What is your Call Sign? I have many Call Signs: Jennifer,  Dave’s wife, author, volunteer, PWOC teacher, tax preparer, coach, AWANA commander, and the list goes on.  Each of my three kids added to the list: Rachel’s Mother, Dena’s mommy, and  Andrew’s mom, don’t even start me on pets….

Each Call Sign tells a little bit about me as a person. Some tell about my relationships, some about my jobs, others about my activities, yet none tell my whole story.

Have you ever thought about the Call Signs of God?  When I first started reading the Bible, I did not understand why sometimes it said “God” and other times “LORD” or “Lord” or “Lord God”.  These are all different Call Signs for God. He has many Call Signs. Some He gives Himself like Elohim or Jehovah. People give others as they see part of His character like Jehovah-Jireh, The Lord Our Provider. Each Call Sign shows us part of His character, knowing His character empowers women to accomplish His mission.

He has given us all the Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-20 yet He has also given each person a specific mission. When my children were little it was to be their mom and to teach them about God and His love. As they grew and changed my mission also changed. He called me to teach and coach, to share His love with people around me. My children are now all over twenty and God has called me to write and speak on a variety of topics. Each mission has a time and a goal, by studying the Call Signs I am able to see His mission clearer.

As I studied the Bible, God placed two books about His names in my heart, “Call Signs” and “Call Sign: Jehovah.” Both books are Bible Studies and will be available soon.  I am still learning about His Call Signs but He also wants me to share about His faithfulness. That study will be coming out next year.
